Across Cumbria to see the Bobbin Mill

Across Cumbria to see the Bobbin Mill

After yet another windy rainy night we woke to cloudy morning but basically dry. After breakfast we went for a little walkabout to check out the facilities. The cafe looks good but is basically a Summer operation with weekends only in October before winter shut down. There is a separate loo block behind but that charges 30p for access although it might be handy for a loo drop if in need. We walked up to the viewpoint and the big

The plan for this short trip was to have a couple of nights in Bury St Edmunds using the offical motorhome parking spaces at Ram Meadow Car Park but we had misjudged it and on arrival these were full and we diverted to Depden Farm Shop a few miles away. It was an easy drive in to Kenilworth and we arrived in the town shortly before

Berty Pomeroy Castle

Berty Pomeroy Castle

After a slow start this morning, Sunday 18th, and a leisurely hotel breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express at Exeter we set off to visit Berry Pomeroy Castle (English Heritage) near Totnes (now renamed Berty Pomeroy Castle for the duration of this post. We couldn’t resist replacing Berry with Bertie!). I must say it seems a bit strange to be staying in a hotel whilst we have Bertie but these three nights were booked some weeks before Bertie came in
